This picture is so glossy it’s kind of a challenge to get a decent shot of it. Anyway, it’s encaustic wax layered with glossy clear acrylic. A big no-no apparently. But so what. I tried this same technique with another painting & the acrylic peeled off like a giant sticker. So far this Frankenstein of medium is adhering.
In general I’m not feeling the encaustic. It’s a lot of work for a blurry uncontrollable shmear of color. Evidently I have not mastered the art of the encaustic.
This painting is titled “Test, test” & is 12″x16″.
Today I’m working on fixing the bastard, unfinished & ugly paintings that I have laying about before buying more wood panels.
