This is Autocorrect Fails: a text based embroidery series that addresses the odd bias and culture of technology and social engagement.

Autocorrect Fails is a text-based embroidery series that addresses the odd bias and culture of technology and social engagement.

To create each piece I solicit donations of autocorrect fails and embroider the phrases onto vintage stitch kits. The donations arrive through social media, in person, and via a donation box I install at galleries and exhibitions. These phrases come from friends and family but just as often from strangers; that engagement is an important part of the process for me.

The kits matter too. They are all from the crafting fad of the seventies, stamped with nostalgic imagery and sold as an all-in-one package to beautify a home.
