The Quiet Conversation Collective
The Quiet Conversation Collective is a group of nine international artists who first met at The European Cultural Academy in Venice in 2024. Our true conversation started when our studies ended. We continued to connect online, inspiring each other to create new artworks.
We as a collective have created artworks that “see” each other, responding to our different practices and ideas with tenderness. These pieces have become symbolic eyes and ears, validating our place in this world as artists and women. Through this practice of seeing, we are building a space that links us instead of divides us. Our connection across bodies of water and country lines is our subtle protest against narrowing nationalism. Ideas and images are not contained by territory. They float through and across time. We use art as a form of collaboration and acknowledgement, finding each other in this under world of creation.
Margaret in the collective
“The Coyote is an evolving series of tapestries depicting urban wildlife within urban landscapes. Through rug tufting, embroidery, quilting, and appliqué, the works explore adaptation, migration, survival, and coexistence within a rapidly changing environment.”
Timbrell joins the collective's eight fellow artists in Venice with four new tapestries.
